No Fancy-Shmancy Just Me, Colored Pencils, Crayons and Paper

Hola! Wishing all a wonderful and whimsical Wednesday full of magic and color!  Today I want to share a little more of my artwork.  These are just an array of random pictures I took of my art from my artwork binder.   No fancy-shmancy here, just me, colored pencils, crayons and paper.  These art pieces are from what I call My Darkness Collection, a period in time where art emerged from deep inside me as a therapeutic self-defense mechanism.  Yes, you heard me right.  I didn't even know I could draw!  I did not go to any fancy art school nor any art classes for that matter and for a while all I did was draw and sketch.  Still Life art was my fave.  Anything that caught my eye, I would draw.  For a long time I kept these art pieces tucked away, never embracing them.   Today, I am loving them and am learning to connect with them.  They are a part of me. A part of me that kept me sane during my darkness.  I want to share a few with y'all today.

As a matter of love, I am in awe that in my darkness I still saw colors!

What do you think of my art?
Do you have a favorite?
Please do share.  I'd love some feedback.  Gracias! Thanks!

Tootles!

  2. I love your art sweetie! My favorite is the red head because I can see myself in her. I think it's strange that sometimes difficult times can make us more creative. I find that when I'm bummed out about something if I pour myself into creating something the pain moves out of me. These are truly beautiful creations!

    1. Hola Krista! Thank you so much for the kind words. Creativity, for sure, is good for the pain. I identify with the red head too! I love it when you visit!

  3. The drawings are great :D, I'm terrible at drawing, I can draw a stick figure. But that's it really! I'm creative in other ways, such as writing. I write a lot and that's how I express my creativity - hence having a blog ;D -

  5. Such great art work! My favorite is the Lisa Frank. The colors are very rich. Can't wait til you get back into the groove of it. I think I may request a special piece for my living room! :)

  6. Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. I'm a new follower of yours. And boy do I wish I could draw. Stick figures...and some flowers, is as far as it goes. I love the first and second drawing. I also love in your intro that you say "I am who I am" and I do love people who aren't afraid to be silly or laugh. Glad I stopped by!
