Spreading the Sunshine!!!

Hola Readers!  I have been nominated for another award.  This time around its the Sunshine Blogger Award.  I searched the web for what this award represents and this is what I found.  Apparently it is a prize awarded to "bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere"  My heartfelt thanks to Sarah of A Cat  Like Curiosity for awarding me this precious prize.  A BIG hug and a smacking kiss on the cheek Sarah!  I so appreciate YOU!  If you have not checked out her blog, I urge you to do so.  She is one amazing, curious and lovely lady.

As an award winner there are some rules you gotta follow.  Here are the rules:

1)  Include award logo in a post or on your blog page.
2)  Answer 10 questions about yourself (same one I answer below).
3)  Nominate 10-12 other fabulous bloggers.
4)  Link your nominees to the post and comment on their blog letting them know about the award.
5)  Share the love and link the person who nominated you.

Ten Questions & Answers...

1)   What would you most want to change about yourself?  My truth at this point in my life is that I would change absolutely nothing about myself.  I totally embrace who I am just as I am! Flaws and all!

2)   What is your theme song?  Black Butterfly by Deniece Williams

3)   One part of your life, a memory, action, etc. that you wish you could surgically remove from your brain?  A memory I wish I could surgically remove from my brain would have to be one from age 12 when I was kidnapped and raped for 3 days before the authorities finally found me.

4)   What generation do you wish you had been a part of?  I find the 1800's fascinating!  There is a mystery and hidden beauty, strength and power behind the woman of this era.  I also love the fashion of that era as well.

5)   What was your favorite childhood toy?  As a child, I loved to read, read and read but not sure if books are considered toys.  So my favorite childhood toy would have to be Paper Dolls!  I loved to dress them up in different outfits and mix and match.

6)   What is your favorite house-cleaning chore?  I really enjoy washing the dishes...

7)   Do you twitter?  I do twitter but only when I have to; I prefer a more friendlier or direct method of interaction.  I view twitter more as a networking "announcement" forum.

8)   Any goals?  My most immediate goals are to settle in comfortably now that I am back home in Miami then make a plan of action towards other goals such as: look into freelance writing, building my Etsy Shop,  do more painting to add to my artwork, blog more!

9)   Do you really drink margaritas all the time?  As a matter of love, I'm not much of an alcohol drinker (prefer tea) but margaritas with extra salt is my fave drink, but no, I really do not drink margaritas all the time.

10) What is the ugliest car you've ever driven and were you embarrassed to be seen in it?  My first car was a rusted, old beat-up, baby blue 2-door Monte Carlo; did I think it was ugly?  Probably.  Was I embarrassed to be seen in it?  Nope, I clearly remember feeling proud!  I was 18 and purchased my own car!

My Sunshine Nominees are...

POMS #12...Step Aside; Fat Girl in White Pants Walking!!!

A while back I read a post by fellow blogger Stephanie of Bassibility where she expressed that when she was younger she was told of certain rules to follow when buying clothes.  One of those rules was that fat girls couldn't wear white pants.  My sentiments exactly when she said "stupid rule".  Anyway, her post inspired my post in the fact that it got me thinking that I never did wear white pants.  If I owned one pair of white pants, it was too many.  Also, I don't recall ever "consciously" not wearing them, so I'm also thinking it was a "subconscious" doing.  Perhaps because I was already conditioned somehow with this stupid rule.
What I would really like to know is who came up with such a foolish and ignorant rule?  I mean really?  Look at me I look fabulously adorable in my white pants.  Don't you think so?
I love this outfit.  I love the way the teal sweater compliments the outfit with a pop of color.  I am rockin' my white pants and I LOVE it!  I have never been in sync with my self love and acceptance as I am today!

I didn't get the stupid and ignorant rule that fat women can't wear white pants.  Nothing unusual happened.  I felt no different than if I wore any other colored pants.  As a matter of love, I'm glad I broke this rule.  I am definitely proud of my size 18!  Now it's your turn.  Do you wear white pants?

Soul Food Monday!

Last night as I rested my head to sleep, I could clearly hear the roaring winds as it savagely pounded the roof top and windows that kept us sheltered from the merciless powerful strikes of Hurricane Isaac.  I laid there quietly as the room's vibrations spoke of how nothing is guaranteed...not even life.  It's funny the things one can think about or reflect on when life is threatened.

Hola and good morning Readers!  Hope everyone had a wonderful and wacky weekend!

I am both grateful and thankful for yet another day of breath and freedom!  Hoping everyone has a Majestic Monday!

This week I will focus on not sweating the small things or even the big things.  I will focus on the important things in life and live each moment as if it were my last.  If you care to join me with this week's focus, please do come back and share!  I would truly love to hear all about it!  Please keep coming back for more of to... Inspire and be Inspired!

Tootles!

Sunday Confessions...Uggg!

I've been stuck at home for practically two days awaiting Tropical Storm Issac.  Needless to say, there is only so much you can do indoors before you start breaking at the seam.  Hola Readers!  Hope everyone is have a superdeedooperdee sensational Sunday!

During my boredom and my procrastination to doing anything productive, I browsed some blogs and came across this link up while I was peeking over at Nikkiana's blog Authentic Experience, which by the way is truly an awesome name for a blog.  Nikkiana is my new Big Blogger and I am so looking forward to getting to know more about her!  For those who do not know what a Big Blogger is, you can check out this post.

Now let me get to my confessions...

1)  This is my first time participating in this link-up and I'm feeling a bit off balance because, for the most part, I guess I associate confessions with negativity and I am one to always aim at focusing on positivity as much as I can.  However, I am also a firm believer that there are no coincidences.  I ended up here for a reason.

2)  Two weeks ago life knocked on my doors and said it's time to move on, time to go back home.  So, I turned in my letter of resignation at work, sold most of my furniture and relocated from Kansas back home to Miami, Florida!  It was a bitter-sweet decision.

3)  It's all been good but I can't wait to completely settle in.  Most of my clothes and stuff are still in luggage's  or boxes.  I'm starting to feel off balance in this area of my life too!

4)  My move was a drastic change.  From empty nest to full nest (again); from my space to shared space; from quiet mornings to loud mornings; from "me" time to absolutely none!  I can't wait to feel balanced again!  Although I am not working and have all this time on my hands, it feels as if there is not enough time in the world for me to do all I want to do.  I feel I am losing inspiration and my niche to blog!  It's taking me forever to finish a post, as a matter of love, I am being tugged right now by a sweet little voice saying "did you see that?...only it's happening every minute!  And that is my truth at the moment!

5)  I really enjoyed partaking in this link-up.  I feel sorta refreshed and although it's been kind of a downer week for me, I look forward to brighter days!  I think I will be back for next Sundays Confessions! ;)

Hope everyone has a wonder week coming up!  Tootles!

Awaiting Tropical Storm Isaac...

It's been kinda ugly and muggy these days due to Hurricane Isaac threatening its way through the Gulf of Mexico.  This is a picture I shot early this morning just outside the door of my daughter's home where I am making residence since I relocated back home to Miami from Kansas 2 weeks ago.
As a means of passing time, I grabbed my camera and shot some pictures
of the household as we await the storm...
My little G-girl Bridget, whom I call mi Chiquitica, is a movie enthusiast to say the least.
Which is cute and all, but when she likes a movie she watches it and watches it and watches it.
 I don't think I can stand watching Grease another time...we've watched it 4x already....back-to-back!
Next is Free Willy Part 1, part 2, part 3 and part 4!!!
Hope the son-in-law doesn't hold a grudge against his
 little sweet young-at-heart mother-in-law (that's me)
I was bored what can I say "/
My Precious Treasure1 working on editing her pictures.  Precious Treasure3 was scheduled to work today and decided to fulfill her responsibilities and go in.  I'm hoping she is sent home very soon!
And the G-girlz...twirling around!
I think I'll take advantage of the imprisonment indoors and
work on some long overdue posts sitting purdy in the draft isle!

Hope you all are enjoying your Sunday where ever in the world you find yourself today.
How do you pass time when you are forced indoors?  I'd really love to hear about it!

Tootles!
