 Long, long ago

 darkness and gloom

 Four little caterpillars

 sentenced to doom

 Savage winds of malice

 twisted ignorant gust

 hurricanes of hatred

 deranged tornadoes of lust

Clipped faded wings

covered in mud

sad deepened eyes

hearts full of blood

Four little caterpillars

tears under rain

crawl sadly apart

binded by pain

World cold and lonely

stepped on and beat

now years, years later

Four caterpillars meet

Familiar strangers

never lost love

cry out together

festering gunk

Long, long ago

darkness and gloom

four little caterpillars

surviving their doom  

Four little caterpelliars

bursting with sting

soaring high and mighty

finding their wings!

Recipe of the Week: Gourmet Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Hola! Hope y'all beautiful peepz are doing marvelous!  I love me a good sandwich.  One of my faves is the spicy Italian sandwich, but the faves of the faves has to be the good old-fashioned grilled cheese sandwich.  So when I found this recipe on mi Amiga Stephanie's blog Bassability, well I just had to share it.  She is so amazing, she put her own twist to the recipe. As Marc Anthony would say sheck it out...

Ingredients:

2 slices of bread (I used French bread for the sandwich pictured)
1-2 tablespoons butter, room temperature (or spreadable margarine)
2-3 tablespoons of spreadable cream cheese
1/2 cup or less of shredded sharp cheddar and Monterrey jack cheese 
8-12 slices of pickled jalapeno peppers, drained and chopped.

Directions:

Butter the bread, put buttered sides of the bread together to assemble your sandwich. 

Spread cream cheese, sprinkle with peppers and cheddar and jack cheeses.

Grill in a dry frying pan until outsides are nicely toasted and insides are melted. 

We eat these with some guacamole and tortilla chips.

Soul Food Monday! - An Inspirational Link-Up #26

Man is the soul that uses the body as an instrument of self-expression.

Hola Readers! Hope this morning everyone is having a great rise along with a BIG appetite for life where ever in the world you may find yourself today. A life filled with excitement and prosperity!   Acknowledging first that we are more than just a body is a good start to healthy wholeness.  Let's take time to feed the soul.  We feed our bodies with healthy foods to get enough energy and nutrients for optimal growth and development.  We feed and stimulate the mind with books, movies, plays and games for personal and creative development.  The same principal applies to feeding the soul.  It is just as important to feed the body as it is to feed the soul!  After all, the soul is the core of who we are!  It is who we are.  My own experiences of honoring my soul has helped me make this connection with my very soul.  And my life is so much richer in so many ways I could not have even imagined.  This is why I refuse to believe that we are just here to work, eat, sleep and die.  Yes, these are inevitable experiences we live as human beings, but we are spiritual beings as well.  So join me every Monday with a different food for the soul.

What is Friends, Outfits & Inspiration all about?   Well, let me tell you it's so much more than just outfits.  I love motivating others to honor their soul by loving and accepting themselves just as they are.  I love helping others embrace themselves.  Help them see and feel pretty and comfortable in their own skin, in their own unique way while having fun at the same time.  I find it inspiring to inspire.  It's so rewarding to see the sparkles in their eyes and the smiles on their faces.  To me these are more than just pictures. To me these are captured moments of inspiring self-love and acceptance.  To me these are...

If I were a flower, I'd be a white gardenia because they 

are rare, unique and have a distinct powerful aroma all of their own! 

If I were a flower, I'd be a blood red rose because I would be beautiful but my thorns, would kill you. Yep, that would be me!

If I were a flower, I'd be a small one because 

the small things in life is what we need to appreciate the most!

If I were a flower, I'd be a Calla Lilly 

because they are beautiful inside and out!

If I were a flower, I'd be a white rose because when I see them

they bring me peace, hope and make me smile. 

That's what I hope I leave my kids.
