I may be late with this, but it's better late than never! Jes of The Militant Baker wrote a post about some list she had come across on the internet listing 25 Things Fat People Shouldn't Do. To say the least I was not at all surprised of how cruel, unloving, ignorant and stupid people can sometimes be. I just said to myself..."I can't whaaat!? Then I decided to have some fun and said...
"Watch Me!"
The List:
Wear shirts with glitter
Ride a scooter
Shimmy
Be straight
Wear an ironic t-shirt
Go to the movies
Roll down a hill
Go to bars
Fly in an airplane
Holy friggin crap!! I did not actually see the whole list yet. Wrong...LIVE?? How does anybody think they deserve more worth or life for the size of their body! I have joined in on this, so far for one post and I will do more!
ReplyDeleteHola Ms Mac! I know! Can you believe the ignorance? It's good that you've joined too, can't wait to see yours! :)

Mayra,
ReplyDeleteGirl!..there ain't no one in the world to better "prove them all wrong" then you. I LOOVVEE the pics, especially that gggrrrr look on your face as you do yo thang! Love, Love, Love it...keep it up, girl and let em all know Ms. Mayra don't take no mess!
I love your spunk, Mayra. These people are ghastly and ignorant. I really mean ignorant not just idiots. I've noticed people can be so incredibly cruel because they haven't experienced "life" yet.
ReplyDeleteLife happens to us all at one time or another, it catches up. Life can be a car accident which causes you to lose mobility or a limb. Life can be Addison's disease, hypothyroidism (undiagnosed), CFS, which can cause you to be unable to exercise, or even get out of bed and you get fat! People go their whole lives with everything going well then bam, out of no where, life changes.
I know because it happened to me. I have met so many more young people it has happened to as well. The one thing you think of when "life" hits you, is I never thought it could happen to me.
Then you think when you see someone else different, "I wonder what happened in their lives to make them the way they are?" Your world changes because you know, you've been there. You are not inclined to judge as you may have once been. Sadly, for a lot of people it takes them going through something tragic before they can sympathize, because obviously they were not born with the gift of empathy.
Those people haven't experienced life yet. So, although that posts angers me and I'd like to do something about it, I feel sorry for them because things have a way of coming back on people like that.
I'm a larger lady myself, I've been slim and massive and I've lost a lot of weight and put some of it back on. I realise now, if it's not something I've conquered by the age of 36 - I'm going to be battling it for the rest of my life. Some people just live for poking fun at other people's 'misfortunes' (I can't think of the right word, but you get me?) Most are anonymous - the beauty of the internet - I'd love to have a good look at some of these bile spouting morons and point out their faults.
ReplyDeleteI live in animal print.
I do however, kind of agree with the plastic thing. If it was amended slightly. Overweight people shouldn't sit on plastic things if only wearing underwear or shorts. I've lost layers of leg and butt skin on my computer chair...
