S.A.S.S....Sponsor Amor Superduperdee Spotlight!

When and Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging January 4, 2013.  I have read blogs for several years now.  I love seeing how others live, their approach to life, and how they get things done.  And as I was reading those blogs, I thought, "Oh, I have a thought about that subject, I would have done that this way, or I like how she did that."  The new year started, and I was like, I have to commit pen to paper and just start.  Here I am.

How did you come up with your name Coco in Magnolia?

My niece, Maggie, calls me Aunt Coco and I live in the town of Magnolia (which happens to be my favorite tree and flower).  Originally, I wanted it to be called Magnolia Mama.  But that name was taken.  I was talking with my niece about it and she said, dah...Aunt Coco...Coco in Magnolia.  Perfecto!

What is the main objective of your blog?

My blog is a lifestyle blog.  I want to share the funnies of life, to inspire hopefully, and connect with other people out there in blog land.  Like the beautiful Mayra.

I love basil on my pizza and sometimes lime in my water, but basil and lime water!?
Do share this discovery!  Sounds interesting!

I was reading Olive Heart blog one day and she shared several herb infused waters that she was drinking.  I tried them all, and this one was my favorite.  It's so refreshing, tasty, and healthy.  It's the only way I can get myself to drink water over iced tea.  It's a Southern thang.

I lost my mom at a young age and I love when others talk about special moments with their moms.  I read you are grateful for your mom's visits and I am sure they've all been special.  Is there one that is most memorable to you?

I am sorry for your loss Mayra.  I am sure your mama was as beautiful as you are on the inside and out. I would love to see a photo of her someday.  My mom travels with us everywhere we go practically.  So, there are many fun memories.  It's hard to just think of one.  This last Sunday, just the two of us went to church.  My family has been thinking of trying this other church down the road.  So, I told the fam Nina and I would try it first and report back.  Nothing spectacular happened, but just being there with her, filling ourselves with the Word, discovering something new together, and being in that state of peace and comfort was memorable.  It was cloudy and raining outside and the just being in the car and talking about nothing was calming and I felt grateful.

Tell me about Coco in Magnolia's I Declare Tuesday.
What's it all about and how did you come up with this concept?

I Declare Tuesday is about making positive declarations over yourself, your friends, your family, your fur-babies, anything, and everything.  It's about thinking good over your life.  It can be a favorite outfit you just bought and are loving or a new recipe you just discovered and want to declare to the world.  I came up with the idea from reading the book I Declare by Joel Osteen with my kiddos.  I really believe in speaking good over my life and declaring what I want for myself and family to the universe.  I thought why not have a link up and let's all share our stories together.

I have found quite a few awesome recipes on your blog, your mom's mashed potato salad being one of them.  Do you have a favorite dish of your own that you like to cook?

Yes, I love a good pasta dish.  But my bootay would agree otherwise.  Pasta is also a good dish to cook when I am in a pinch for time.  I like pasta, with evo, garlic, red pepper flakes, s&p, and broccoli.  I steam the broccoli first and then use the same water and boil my pasta (no wasting water).  Then I heat my evo, spoon in my drained pasta and broccoli, add minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and s&p.  Finish!  Easy peasy.

What are a few of your favorite things?

Some of my favorite things are my basil/lime water, Starbucks soy latte, margarita from Ranchero's (hmmm it's all about the drink right now, weird...I must be thirsty),  Nike tennies, pilates, and jewelry.  I love jewelry!

Blogging can be fun!  What are other activities you do for fun other than blogging?

I love to work out.  I do pilates, lift weights, play golf with the hubs,  travel, and go on long walks with my bestie.  I also love to read, read all the time.  And it can be a magazine, book, or blogs.  We love to be active with our kiddos so skiing on the water or snow, swimming in the pool, and just being outside and playing.  I have to be outside when the weather is nice or I feel guilty for some reason.  I don't know what that means?

If you could describe yourself in one word, what word would it be?
Devoted.

Thank you so much Mayra for this opportunity to be on your blog.  You inspire me and I can't get enough of your positive energy that bleeds through your blog.  Have a great day!

Cortne, you are just AWESOME!  Thank you for the love and support, the kind words and for choosing to sponsor PonderWonders in July.  Hey there Friends, Familia and peek-a-boo-ers, want some more of this superdeeduperdee awesomeness?  Yes?  Well, then go take a peek at Coco in Magnolia and saturate in it! You won't regret it. Promise.

Tootles!
