Sisterhood of The World Bloggers Award!

I am so grateful and pleased to thank my good friend Nana Granada for nominating me for the

Sisterhood of The World Bloggers Award!

I am superdeeduperdee honored to accept this wonderful award and proud to be included among some of the best and awesome FEMALE powerhouse bloggers standing for self-empowerment and betterment of the world.  Mi corazon (my heart) is overflowing with so much Amor!

What is the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award!?

The award is passed on from sister blogger to sister blogger and there are 4 simple conditions to meet when accepting the award.  And these are...

1)  You have to thank the person who gave it to you.
2)  You have to post 7 things about yourself.
3)  You have to nominate 7 others and let them know they have been nominated.
4)  You have to include the award logo on your post.

Alrighty then, now 7 things about myself, hmmmm...

1)  I was born in the tropical island of Cuba but my parents immigrated to the USA when I was a little girl so I do not remember anything about my birthplace other than the stories passed on to me. Like for example, I use to eat rocks as a baby.  To my defense, I'm guessing that Cuban rocks are a delicacy.  I was raised in the sunny beaches of Miami, Florida except for when I lived 7 years (not consecutive) in Chicago, IL.

2)  Three years ago I moved to Kansas for a much needed tranquil adventure.  I landed an awesome job with The University of Kansas Cancer Center Hospital, I became an empty-nester with new found free time on my hands, I lived in a cozy 2-bedroom apartment in a beautiful and peaceful community. BUT, 2 months ago life unexpectedly knocked on my door and said it was time to come back home, so I am back in Miami living with my eldest daughter, sharing a bedroom with my 2 G-daughters, helping out with diaper changes, babysitting, jobless, stuff still in boxes, acting empire, anxious, at times scared, but extremely happy.

3)  Aside from writing, reading and drawing, my passion is to serve.  The disposition I apply to life and in everything I do is "How may I serve?".  While employed at that awesome job mentioned above, I had the opportunity to volunteer with NODA which stands for No One Dies Alone. A hospital based program where I served as a companion or better known as a healing presence sitting vigil and giving comfort to ill-stricken patients who, heart-breakingly, have only 72 hours to live and would otherwise die alone.  My heart could not resist knowing this was going on and not do anything about it.  It was truly an empowering and rewarding experience.

4)  I am a good listener and have an exquisite sensitivity to other peoples feelings.  At times I feel this is a very good attribute because I am very understanding, very patient and very caring.  My energy seems to draw people to me that somehow feel comfortable enough to share of themselves.  At times this even includes their most intimate stories and/or issues.  This also includes limited time spent with strangers I meet in the street or at the grocery store.  Which is bizarre but rewarding at the same time.  Especially, when they thank me and relate that they are walking away with a better sense of their problem.  But, at times it can be emotionally draining for me but miraculously I always seem to find the energy to continue.

5)  I am a single mother of the 3 most beautiful, free spirited, kind and caring daughters a mother could have (of course I'm being bias here).  Collectively I refer to them as my 3 most precious treasures! I try to be the best mother I can be by providing them with an insight of the important things in life like loving one another, respect, your word is your honor, you are your own individual, no one defines you but you, honor your soul, say it straight simple and with a smile, learn to listen and trust your inner voice, etc, etc and all that good stuff. They are my true love.

6)  I am an advocate for being beautiful-at-any-size-or-age!  I would describe my fashion sense as simply ME!  I try to follow no trend but my own.  I never plan what to wear until the moment of dressing.  I dress by mood, that is one way I honor my soul...I dress as I feel.  I like psychedelic, eclectic, vintage and animal print.  I love to accessorize with purses and cute and unique earrings.  I LOVE high heels!  There is no high heels I own that I can't wear with any outfit.  I can do anything in the right pair of shoes!

7)  I LOVE to love!  My best friend is Jesus Christ.  He is the only proven constant in my life. I am NOT afraid to be silly.  I am colorful and unique.  I love to laugh!  I love to hear music and dance!  If a song pops in my mind while strolling the mall that is exactly what I will do (of course with respect to others) but I will not hold back because of what others will think of me.  I meditate and have learned that only I can hold myself back.  So I embrace ME!  I embrace and follow the rhythm of my own beat.  I try to see the world with my heart and voice my thoughts with my heart!  Siempre!  Always!  I Am Who I Am!

Please meet my 7 lovely nominees (in no particular order)...

There you have it.  Thanks again Nana!  Wishing y'all a terrific, tantalizing Tuesday!  Also, wishing I could have nominated more of you awesome, wonderful ladies, but please know y'all are winners in mi corazon!

Tootles!
