One for the Black Butterfly!

“Stepping onto a brand-new path is difficult,
but not more difficult than remaining in a situation,
which is not nurturing to the whole woman.” ~Maya Angelou

Lately I have been feeling rather sensitive and emotional.  It's no news that my life has taken rather a drastic change recently.  A rather sudden one.  Empty nest to full nest.  Quiet mornings to loud mornings.  My own space to shared space.  Laughter to tears.  Tears to laughter.  Happy to sad.  Sad to Happy.

Hola Readers!  Just me being me here.  Sharing my life.  Honoring my soul with self love and acceptance.  Hoping to Inspire and be Inspired!  Siempre!  Always!

I don't want to project the wrong impression here, I am totally embracing this change with wide open arms and a more even open heart.  Following Maya Angelou's wise words above, I just don't want to remain in a situation, I want to nurture the whole woman.  Besides, I love my Familia and am enjoying every minute I get with them.  Therefore, since I am an active advocate to honoring the soul, I have validated my rather sensitive and emotional state embracing it with love and acceptance. All this roller coaster of emotions set off a journey down memory lane...

You may or may not know that on all the pictures I publish of myself, there is a black butterfly somewhere around the picture.  I use it as a personal signature.  Not only because I love butterflies, but rather because I hold the black butterfly as a special and significant symbol.  A symbol of freedom.  A seal of affirmation.  Affirmation of "survival".  Affirmation that I am brave, courageous, triumph and free!
Here are the lyrics to the song that resonated my soul when I first heard many, many years ago.  I felt it was written especially for me.  Words embedded in my heart and soul forever.

by Deniece Williams
Morning light, silken dream to flight
As the darkness gave way to dawn
You've survived, now your moment has arrived
Now your dream has finally been born
Chorus:
Black Butterfly, sailed across the waters
tell your sons and daughters
what the struggle brings
Black Butterfly, set the skies on fire
rise up even higher
so the ageless winds of time can catch your wings
ooh...ooh
While you slept, the promise was unkept
But your faith was as sure as the stars
Now you're free, and the world has come to see
Just how proud and beautiful you are
Chorus
Let the current lift your heart and send it soaring
Write the timeless message clear across the sky
So that all of can read it and remember when we need it
That a dream conceived in truth can never die
Butterfly
Cause now that you're free and the world has come to see
Just how proud and beautiful you are
Chorus:
Fly
Butterfly
Yeah, yeah, yes
Fly

I want to take this opportunity to express that it is a pleasure and joy when you stop by and visit. Siempre! Always!  All of you have become in one way or another a part of my life.  Like family.  Family I have all around the world.  I am blessed.  Grateful.  Thankful.  And I appreciate YOU!
One Love!

Tootles!

  3. This is a very gorgeous post and so well written. I see a black butterfly as a very different yet somehow the same symbol, and definitely a positive one.

Also, totally off subject, but I love your glasses!
